A total of 169 applications or granted patents concerning new active ingredients were published in 2012 by State Intellectual Property Office of China. The largest proportion of the ais concerned insecticides (73), followed by herbicides (54) and fungicides (42).

It can tell that domestic colleges, universities and multinational corporations contribute mostly to research and development in China. Among the filings, colleges and universities applied for 71 patents, accounted for 42.0% of total. Multinational corporations applied for 67, which accounted for 39.6%, and it’s worth noting that Bayer has applied for 31 patents, accounted for 18.3% of total.

Of all the new ais’ patents, there are 29 involved bio-pesticides, accounted for 17.2% of total.

In this report, combining the applications and granted patents of new ais in 2013, structures and preparations of these ais are detailed introduced. Large amount of real and authentic information will be supplied so that you could get insight into current dynamics of agrochemical R&D in China.
