At the invitation of the Orgsyntes, branch of Renova Group from Russia, and in order to actively promote the cooperative projects on glyphosate production between Sichuan Beier Group and Renova Group, the group led by Wang Guocheng, Chairman of Sichuan Beier Group, went to Russia on July 27, 2014 for a five-day project study. During the visit in Russia, the study group received warm reception from Renova Group and visited its plant located in Cheboksary, Chuvashia Republic and headquarters of Orgsyntes in Moscow. The study group also made full exchanges with Yaroslavkuzetaov, General Manager of Orgsyntes and relevant department leaders from Renova Group, and signed cooperation documents.
Russia is endowed with natural gas cheap in price and high in quality as well as rich phosphate resources, which could provide adequate raw materials for glyphosate production through the IDAN route. Orgsyntes’s affiliated plant possesses thermoelectric, caustic soda, oxygen preparation, hydrogen peroxide, phosphorus chemical and other industries, land for project construction as well as utility facilities, which can greatly reduce project construction investment and production cost. The completion of the project will not only fill the gap in glyphosate production by CIS countries, but also meet demands for glyphosate in markets in CIS countries. What’s more, making full use of its competitive advantages, Renova Group can sell its glyphosate product to other countries and regions. The project has promising prospects.
Sichuan Beier Group is one of the top 100 companies which first studied the new synthetic technology and industrialization of glyphosate production through the IDAN route. With mature industrialization technologies for glyphosate production through the IDAN route as well as relevant patents, Beier Group is building a base for phosphine production with PMIDA as raw material in South America, which is highly complementary to Orgsyntes’ project for glyphosate production. After over one year’s research and exchanges with Beier Group, the team from Orgsyntes’ project for glyphosate production have signed a series of cooperation agreements with Beier Group.
Through studies and in-depth exchanges, both sides have reached an agreement on the cooperation model, construction scale, construction progress, project financing, and other aspects of the Russian glyphosate project. Both sides made the decision to establish a joint venture in the aim of making full use of each other’s complementary advantages and bringing resources integration. Both will spare no efforts to strengthen and expand the glyphosate industry in Russia. Luo Qiusheng, Dean of Sichuan Chenguang Engineering Design Institute, and personnel from the engineering design and construction units also joined the study tour.
